I am a software and web developer with 4 years experience working within the industry. I am looking to expand my skillset and gain more experience whilst making good use of my existing skills. I have an eye for detail and quality, am self-motivating and deadline focused, and have an ability to see through technical problems.
I have experience of working in environments using Agile and Test-Driven Development methodologies, and have had exposure to the full software lifecycle from analysis of requirements through development, integration, testing and deployment.
I joined BD2 as one of two senior .Net developers. I’ve recently worked on web projects for various sizes of company: from an internal e-commerce application for Nestle, to a directory site for Bolton Council. I’m responsible for architecting our projects as well as working on the front-end development of the sites.
I build apps using ASP.NET 3.5 & 4.0, including ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery. I’ve recently introduced continuous integration/deployment and automated testing to our projects to improve the quality and speed of feedback on our work.
I joined Elevator Digital as a .Net developer. I worked on the e-Learning side of Elevator's business, which develops learning tools for Pharmaceutical and Medical companies, as well as organisations like the North West Development Agency (NWDA).
I was responsible for prototyping various desktop applications and widgets using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Adobe AIR. Other tasks included customising Wordpress installations for the company's websites.
I joined ICS as a junior software developer part-way my 2nd year at MMU. I worked on projects ranging from the installer and licensing system for the company's product RSInteract, to enterprise desktop and middleware systems for clients.
During my time at ICS, I also worked on the total rewrite of Sporting Index’s website, implementing the AJAX-powered live-updating price grids, all the payments and accounts controls, and creating a lot of the CSS used to style the site. The price grid was built using a combination of ASP.NET AJAX, jQuery and JSON Web services to display constantly up-to-date prices to the customer. The payments and account controls where implemented using ASP.NET AJAX and backend web services.
